In the excitement of getting ready to go live this Saturday – I managed to trip over my external hard drive @ the station …and the picture below should provide a semi-accurate description of what happened next…
Will try and look for a fix this week – there was a good 400GB worth of music (my entire collection!). Hopefully things get resolved this week. I apologize to everyone that tuned in last week and got 2 hours of pure arabic house music – thats the only thing that survived on my computer. Will have a playlist for the tracks that went on that day soon.
Thanks for being patient and hope that I find a quick fix this week – so that we continue to have an awesome show for you next week!

Hey there. I caught your show for the first time this Saturday (the ill-fated 10th of May). Sorry about your hard drive tragedy, but I’m now pretty much hooked on your show.
I’m barely mono-lingual in English, but I travelled a lot in South Asia about 10 years back and picked up a fair number of filmi soundtracks (mostly in Tamil). I wasn’t blown away at the time, but I really liked whatever it was you were playing on Saturday.
I play in a hard rock band with a violinist and a cellist and I was hoping to put together a sampler of the best examples of filmi string arrangements to try to encourage them to move in that direction. Assuming I am a complete novice in the related genres (because I am), can you suggest some tracks that have the catchiest orchestral hooks?
I’m getting kind of obsessed, so point me in the right direction. Where should I start to get into Bhangra, Bollywood remixes, etc?

Tamil soundtracks are a whole different animal and something i need to cover more on, so can not honesty say much about that scene. I can definitely hook up some great tunes on my next show 24th (I am not doing this saturday as i am still in the process of trying to recover my music from my external) and you can let me know which tunes caught your attention the most and i can help you out from there 
Bhangra uses more of the sitar and guitar plucking style of music – I had a mix up live on air a year ago for share that covers some of the hot bhangra tracks (check it out here – http://www.ashishb.com/djsite/bhangra_final.mp3) …not sure if this would be you’re scene…

Cheers for tuning in! Yeah bollywood does use a lot of string arrangments – and recently have been mixed in with some hip-hop/electronic fusion, sounding more bad-ass than it has before
